Horizontal Scroll Compressors used for transportation applications

With the increasing popularity of vehicle electrification, the compressors used in vehicle air conditioning systems have also changed from open to fully enclosed structures. This provides strong conditions for the integration of the vehicle's air conditioning system on top.

The typical refrigeration system for fuel powered vehicles is a pulley type compressor driven by the engine or auxiliary engine, installed at the bottom of the vehicle. The fully enclosed horizontal scroll compressor can be compact and placed inside the air conditioning system.

Compressors used for transportation applications are required to have a high resistance to shock and vibration, operate at both high ambient temperature and high-pressure ratio test conditions, and be small and lightweight.

 In some applications such as automotive, a 2000 hours product life may be sufficient but for commercial vehicles and transport refrigeration, a product life of 10,000 to 40,000 hours may be required. To meet these higher end requirements, a compressor design generally requires a consistent oil supply and hydrodynamic versus splash or boundary lubricated bearings. 

Also, with increasing energy efficiency and environmental standards, both energy efficiency and refrigerant leakage control are becoming of increasing importance. 

To achieve both these needs, we have designed a compact hermetic horizontal scroll compressor for this application

Our displacement ranges from 28CC-162CC, and different refrigerants such as R134A, R407C, R410A, and R290 can be used. This allows customers to flexibly design their air conditioning systems.
